Giving Your Mind and Body TLC as the Coronavirus Pandemic Rages On

At the beginning of 2020, none of us would’ve ever imagined that simply staying at home could save lives, nor would we have known what buzzwords like “social distancing” and “flattening the curve” meant. But as COVID-19 continues to ravage the world, we have been forced to conform to a new normal and give up much of life as we knew it.

No doubt, this paradigm shift is more than jarring to most. I admit it’s been a very difficult adjustment for me, and as I continue to adapt to this new normal, I’m still finding myself having a tough time dealing with all of the changes. Plus, the constant and often-bleak stream of information does not help matters at all. However, I’ve learned even more over the last several months that it’s critical to focus on what you can control instead of what you can’t, such as keeping your body healthy with mindful eating and movement. And don’t forget that your mind needs TLC, too, so self-care definitely helps.

Why You Can Have Your Best Ideas During a Quarantine

Along with so many others, I’ve learned that staying at home is an easy enough mandate, yet it can also be hard to do amid the noise and fear that’s palpable in the air. But we all need to take care of ourselves and our loved ones more than ever before, so tackle the task holistically. Not only will it benefit you against this virus, but it’s also something worthwhile and tangible to do. So, take it one day at a time. This will be over soon.
