NOTHING HIDDEN ABOUT THESE FENCES

Steve Harvey Miss America DISASTER surprising brought out the ignorance and racism in America. This multichannel Comedian turned talk show host was not afforded a mistake. Instead social media was showered with memes taunting him, and Twitter went wild with derogatory commentary. Many of us sympathized with him as he endured the forced apology and critic. What do we say when it's the other way around?

Twice at this years Golden Globes "Hidden Figures" and "Fences" cast-mates were "nominated for Hidden Fences. NBC's "Today" show correspondent, Jenna Bush Hager co-hosted the special event before the Golden Globes said "So, you're nominated for Hidden Fences." Pharell's puzzled look could only be described as the Russell Westbrook, "WHATTTT." Following this incident, inside Michael Keaton also announced that Octavia Spencer was nominated for "Hidden Fences." Was this a joke? Or was this back-lash?  They were not only stealing Octavia Spencer's moment but almost discrediting the films presence. This goes down as one of the most awkward television moments.

The Golden Globes has long been a place that lacked diversity. After last years #BoycottOscars it brought to question the severity of misrepresentation during a time of extreme storytelling for the black and brown narratives. Golden Globes new that they needed to honor their audience choices. 2016 proved there was more to explore. Black actors have surpassed the coonery and are setting the standards that Hollywood must follow.

Hidden Figures and Fences are two entirely different stories. Despite the stereotypes all black films and all black people ARE NOT the same!! One depicts the three black women who work behind the scenes helped launch NASA's in the 1960s. "Hidden Figures" stars Taraji P.Henson, Janelle Monae, and Octavia Spencer. "Fences," however, is August Wilson's play turned motion pictures starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis.

Do us a favorite, and don't get this messed up!
