WOMAN'S HISTORY WEDNESDAY: Amaara Lynn
MLNNNYC was first introduced to this firey, Guyanese queen via Instagram two years ago. Amaara's passion for women's issues led to her posting a series of advice for women's health and spirituality. She has continued to reach women all around her including us.
MLNNNYC asked Amaara Lynn how she makes history daily, and here was her response:
Hey my name is Amaara Lynn, aspiring writer and owner of Curlwhatever. History is something that requires sacrifices and a certain dedication to a cause. I make history daily through creating natural products for my people. Stepping away from toxic and carcinogenic materials for our skin is one of the most revolutionary ways to prolong our health. My business incorporates organic products and allows people of color to return to a more holistic and naturopathic lifestyle adorned by our ancestors. History is something that is also cyclic. So in accordance to the Akan ideology of “Sankofa”, we need to go back to our roots and diminish skin and beauty regimens based around Eurocentrism.
