Melanin Monday: Ronald Draper THE ART

A simple hashtag led Ronald Draper to my Instagram three years ago.  Three years later and we remain distant fan-friends. Ronald Draper accompanied 5 Points Family to transform August Martin High School in South Jamaica Queens into a grafitti paradise. 

Ronald Draper is a mixed-medum artist from the heart of New York City-- Harlem. This once innercity kid turned grown man has many titles under his belt. 

NAACP Award winning artist, and Director of Contemporary Arts and Culture at Harlem Hospital. Ronald Draper is one of our personal favoirte person to reach out to. Whether for advice on conquering all fears, or a simple how you doing, he is never unavailable to shed light and love. Draper's art opens every viewers mind to a new perspective, inspires greatness, and never fails to reminds us of our most sweetest memories. 

His use of fabric,glass, wood etc are all what make him especially unique. This extrordinary artist is also an Interior Decorator, who customizes furniture and builds especially for his home and his clients. He is limitless when it comes to his craft. His art work draws strong connections between sense of self and sight. 

The #LoveNotes series was inspired by a series of letter he wrote the women in his life that he felt could be influential to others. With simple notes like "Dear Beautiful BLACK HUMAN, All of the adversity in the world doesn't stand agaisnt the power of a dream." He reminds his followers that anything you believe in can be manifested as long as you work deligently and continuously towards it. 

The Draper Space is his art studio located in the Bronx. The Draper Space is home to many art workshops facilitated by Draper. No two pieces of his work are alike. Each piece is signature and beautiful! Ronald Draper has change the process of custom artwork.
